Up to 90% energy saving

Traditional dichroic halogen lighting consumes between 54 and 58W depending on transformer/power supply type. Our utilisation of CREEs MT-G2 and XT-E high output LEDs at up to 120 lm/W in cool white (~5500K) allows us to use as little as a 6W driver to produce sufficient light to match an existing 50W halogen. This equates to an energy saving of approximately 90% and a payback time of between 6 and 12 months depending on operating hours.[1]

Thermal Efficiency

Traditional halogen downlighting reaches operating temperatures of up to 250°C, which over time can cause objects in contact to ignite and burn depending on factors such as moisture content and ambient temperature. Other sources cite an operating temperature of 370°C to 500°C which is the temperature close to the point where some timbers will instantaneously ignite.

Such halogen lighting also exerts a significant heating effect leading to a large heat load on air-conditioning units during the warmer months.

We estimate that further energy savings of up to 30% can be gained by the replacement with LED lighting which reduces the heat load by approximately 80%.  

Optimal Light Colour

The colour temperature of our downlights can be selected to suite your work environment or ambience from extra warm lighting to natural white lighting to cooler white lighting.

Dimmable Light Output

Dimmable from 0 lumens to a maximum light output of up to 800 lumens or equivalent to approximately a 100W light bulb.

Optical Design

High quality and efficient optics with up to 60 to 100° can provide a broad diffuse beam for ambient lighting or as low as 28° for spot lighting. Single LED light source shows stark similarities to the traditional halogen lighting source.
